Wildlings After Dark

The adventure at McWilliams Heritage Farm, Folk & Forest School doesn’t end when the sun goes down. Wildlings After Dark is a once-a-month evening program that allows children to experience the magic of nighttime in nature.

As the stars emerge and the forest comes alive, Wildlings gather around the campfire for cooking, storytelling, and stargazing. They might roast homemade bread over the flames, listen to the sounds of nocturnal animals, or take a lantern-lit hike through the woods. These experiences foster confidence, independence, and an appreciation for the quiet beauty of the natural world after dark.

Without the distractions of screens or artificial light, children learn to trust their senses, embrace the unknown, and feel at home at night. This program is a beautiful way to build resilience and deepen each child’s connection to the land—under the moon's soft glow.
