Gather, Garnish, Graze

At McWilliams Heritage Farm, Folk & Forest School, food is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. Gather, Garnish, Graze is a farm-to-table program where children (ages 8-15) explore the entire food journey, from the soil to the table.

Wildlings begin by harvesting fresh garden ingredients, learning about seasonal eating, regenerative farming, and foraging. Then, they gather in the outdoor kitchen to prepare and cook a beautiful, nourishing meal together—learning essential homesteading and kitchen skills.

But this program isn’t just about cooking. It’s about intentionally creating a space for connection. Children will learn to set the table carefully, arrange fresh flowers, and select music to create a welcoming atmosphere. As they sit together and enjoy their crafted meal, they experience the joy of slow living, sustainability, and shared tradition.
